The Burns Sisters invite you to "The Gathering" in Ireland
on "The Songbirds Tour"

The Burns Sisters, Annie and Marie, beloved Songbirds of the Finger Lakes, will be joining the Songbird of County Clare, Kate Purcell, on a 10 day tour of the west of Ireland, from September 29 to October 8, 2013.

The Burns Sisters and Kate Purcell

The Songbirds joined up in Ireland in 2012.

Kate, famous singer in Ireland, recorded a song of Marie's called "Savannah" it was a hit song there. We finally met Kate and told her of our interest in playing Ireland. She booked us three gigs that turned into twenty and the adventure began.

In early 2013, Kate performed on “Andy Cooney’s Cruise of Irish Stars” in the Western Caribbean, and then joined up with Annie and Marie again for her first
musical tour of Florida. “It was a smashing success,” enthuses Marie.

Come join the Songbirds Tour, the Burns Sisters, Kate Purcell, and Bobby Sweet an extra plus!

You will hear the most beautiful songs that you can imagine. Bring your favorite songs, stories, and jokes to share. There is nothing more fun than singing on the bus, especially on the left side of the road.

The tour will be in the West of Ireland, where the music is pure and songs are sacred. The Burns Sisters, Bobby Sweet and Kate Purcell are not only songwriters, but also collectors of songs that they treasure.  Kate lives in County Clare, and knows the off-the-beaten-path gems from her own backyard, and where to find the sweetest singers and hottest sessions.

“Kate’s band, Thrillogy, will knock your socks off,” says Marie. They will be an extra treat along our tour.

Joining the tour will be singer/songwriter and guitar virtuoso, Bobby Sweet, a fifth generation musician from Washington, Mass. Bobby and the Burns Sisters first teamed up, when they toured with Arlo Guthrie and accompanied Arlo on several tours as his band and opening shows.“

We guarantee that this will be very special, and unlike any other music tours available at this time. Everyone eighteen and older is welcome: singles, couples, men, and women with only one requirement –that you like to have fun, love music, and are up for some good laughs and soul therapy. If you have not been on an adventure in a while, this could be the time to find the adventurer within!

Traveling with Kate Purcell

We will talk to the locals in the heart of western Ireland who are living history books, and who will share their personal stories, both past and present. We will tour both the beautiful and the poignant sites. We will see the Cliffs of Moher at their most spectacular from the deck of a tour boat after visiting the beautiful little island of Inis Oirr in the Arans. Then, we will walk the mysterious and picture-perfect landscapes of The Burren, amid the ancient ruins of the west, and along the shores of the unspoiled and rugged coastline. Of course, golfers are welcome, if you are so inclined!

Local inns, and family-owned pubs and restaurants will be the order of the day as here you will find the best of what is Irish in both food and drink, and, of course, the best hospitality in the world.

Every evening after dinner the The Burns Sisters, Kate Purcell and Bobby Sweet will entertain and keep the music flowing. On certain nights, we will be treated to guest artists from the areas that we are in, so to experience the flavor of what is going on musically in the heart and soul of Ireland.

On the arrival date, September 29, we will meet you at Shannon Airport. We will spend the first night at a hotel nearby, and the next day we will board the bus and the adventure shall begin! On the last night of the tour, we will stay at a hotel close to Shannon, so everyone will be in place for their departing flights. There, we will have our farewell feast and a final night of music and song.

The cost for this magical week is $2,250 per person, based on double occupancy. For a single room, please add another $350, although single occupancy may be limited in some locations. The cost will cover your room for eight nights, breakfast each morn, five evening meals, your seat on the magic bus, the music, entrance tickets, island ferry, as well as, the heritage center tickets.

Guests will pay for their flights, a few lunches, drinks, and tips. A $500 deposit is due by July 23 to secure your place on the bus. Flights are a bit cheaper if reservations are made early, and we will lookout for the best deals. All fees are due August 5th, 2013
